Ham radio have been part of my life since I was born, because my father is a radio-operator from 1946. So, mikes, cables, antennas are part of my life. Dad's call sign is CE4CK, and I used from time to time, when I was not already a ham. I must say that radio I didn't like radio till I left home to attend University; but when I was scout, we used radio as part of the "Jamboree on the Air" event. On JOTA we meet other scouts and guides from other countries and exchange addresses and forward our friendship by mail. But when I was at the University, and money lacks, any penny you can earn is very important. So, I got my license!!! Then I could call home to ask more money!! The first license was as "aspirante nš 8413" and after the exams I became CE4JLK. So, from that day on I'm at radio every weekend at 14.266 KHz around 20:30UTC, where the South American Esperanto Net take place. I also like DX-ing but I must say that I can't afford those terrible pile ups...!!!! Now I organise the Scout District participation at JOTA and JOTI During all these year as a ham, I have met lot of interesting people to talk with, and gave help to others; took part in lot of contests etc. I love ham radio, because is a hobby that can help others even to survive, and I love helping peoples. CW I rather do, because I'm a little fool with the key. I prefer do it with hand-keys and do not use computers to send or receive, I say my ears are ok, so I can hear the dots and slashs.. hi hi. this is my first QSL-card
